Talking to an advocate online, from first search to written advice

Four steps, and you know the price at the third. Every advocate here has had their State Bar Council enrolment checked against the roll before they could be booked, and you can only book one who is enrolled in the state your matter concerns.

Say what the matter is, and which state it concerns

An advocate is enrolled with a particular State Bar Council, and that enrolment is what allows them to advise you. So the state is asked first, before you see anybody. Choosing property in Karnataka shows you advocates who hold a verified Karnataka enrolment and practise property law, and nobody else.

The rule is enforced when the booking is created rather than left to the advocate to notice. A booking with an advocate not enrolled in your state cannot be made at all.

Pick a time from the advocate's own calendar

You see real openings, published by the advocate, in Indian Standard Time. There is no callback queue and nothing to be matched into: the slot you choose is the slot that is held.

Consultations run 30, 60 or 90 minutes depending on what the advocate offers. Some also take emergency consultations at five minutes' notice, which are priced separately and shown as such.

The fee is agreed with the advocate in writing before their profile goes live, so it is a fixed figure rather than an estimate. You see it in full at checkout, including the tax, before you pay anything.

There is no per-minute meter. The advocate's professional fee is exempt from GST; tax applies only to Lexoradv's facilitation charge, and the invoice sets both out separately.

Questions before you book

Is it legal to consult an advocate over video in India?: Yes. An advocate may advise a client by any means; what matters is that they are enrolled with a State Bar Council and entitled to practise. Lexoradv verifies that enrolment before an advocate can be booked. The advocate and client relationship, and the privilege that attaches to it under section 126 of the Indian Evidence Act, is between you and the advocate.
